About

Richard’s contemporary compositions concentrate on texture and form, inviting an appreciation of the world around us in ways often overlooked.

The rich dark tones of his photographs reflect the influence of photographer Bill Brandt in his work. Whilst his main interest, love and appreciation is for B&W he does create colour imagery, although this tends to reflect his monochromatic viewpoint.

His riverside home with its tidal rhythm and large open skies, together with the changing of the seasons are a constant source of inspiration.

Working mainly with digital tools now, he honed his craft in the darkroom and is once again enjoying working with 35mm film. This collection contains both analogue and digital photographs.

All photographs are printed to exhibition standards on Hahnemühle Photorag paper to produce finely detailed prints that are available in 3 sizes. Each size is limited to a run of 50 signed editions. Alternative sizes available on request.

His photograph, The Swan, was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2019.

He is available for commissions.
